What speed do you read?

Hi everyone!
Hope you all are having a fabulous week full of glitter and books! :)

Welcome to Post 1 from a series of scheduled posts I've set up for this week.  I've never done this before, and hopefully blogger doesn't glitch on me and not post on time!  :)

So anyways, for today, I wanted to share this really cool site I found on Staples. (link: http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/technology-research-centers/ereaders/speed-reader/ )

It  measures the speed at which you read and compares it to the national average.  I thought that was pretty cool in itself, but there's more!! They also tell you that if you maintain that reading speed, you could read certain books (classics mostly) in this much time.  Another thing they tell you is how many books you could read on an ereader (kindle, nook, etc) before recharging (super handy!!). :)

You can also retake the quiz with different passages! It's so cool! :)

I seriously encourage everyone to try it out!! Also, if you don't mind, I would love to hear about your results in the comment section below. :) (I read 759 (!!) words per minute, which made me 204% (?!?) faster than the national average.  I honestly think this is a fluke because my passage was from Alice in Wonderland, and even though I've only read half of that book, the passage was from the half that I read before LOL.)

Have fun with it! :D

Best wishes,
Kyendwarrior :)

Awesome score! I can't imagine what it would be like to be a fast reader. Magical? I'll have to give myself a peptalk before taking a speed reading test. I am not fast at all.

I hope things settle down for you soon.
